What three event that we have studied have had the greatest impact on making South Central, LA what it is today?
The three events that have had the gratest impact are Watts Riots, Gang History, and Crack Epidemic. The reason why i believe this is because The Watts Riots Made a positive impact, The Gang history also made a good impact but over time it wasn’t a good impact anymore, and The Crack Epidemic made a really bad impact towards what LA is now.
The first event that made a positive impact on making South Central what it is today is The Watts Riots. The Watts Riots made a good impact is because before there wasn’t reallly much things to offer to the community. Also there was no buses that took the people outside of Watts and for that reason many people couldn’t go out and look for jobs. There was no businesses buit near the community that helped the people. The nearest hospital was two hours away and that was a big problem.There were harly any schools for the kids.The Watts Riots changed South Central because now there is a hospital nearby name Martin Luther King Hospital, and also the Wilmington shopping center close the the wilmington green line station, also two shools that were built, which was Samuel Gompers middle school and Alain Leory locke high school.
The second event that had a bad impact on South Central what it is today is Gang History. The Gang History made a good impact. The reason why i believe this is because the gangs were formed because of the LA’s White biggest gangs “The Spook Hunter”. The spooks looked for black and latinos to beat them up . And for this major reason was why the gangs were form, to protected themselfs and family. Thats when 18th street latino gang, Surenos(southern),Nortenos (northerners). Also the Black Panther Party and Brown Berets were formed, their purpose was toact as a community army, and organized people aqainst police brutaliy and racism.Before the gangs helped the community. The Gangs overtime have had destroyed the community by not maintaining the purpose and using violence
